My husband and I recently gave ourselves a 24 hour stay at the Mandalay Bay resort to celebrate our 5^th Wedding Anniversary. This is where we were married 5 years ago as well! Although we live here in Las Vegas, it is rare that we become guests in the local Hotels, but we know several people who enjoy it and do it often because it’s like having a vacation without the travel expense!

Our room was on the 28^th floor with a breathtaking view of the Strip! It was like having a front row seat to something truly amazing! The floor to ceiling windows left nothing to the imagination! The Mandalay Bay Hotel is on the south end of the Strip, and our view was looking straight north with the Luxor right next door! We also had a clear view of the Excalibur, Paris, New York, New York, MGM Grand, The Tropicana, Trump Towers, and so much more! The colors were amazing!

We ventured up 43 floors to the Foundation Room where we were married five years before. We walked out on to the terrace with that special view of Las Vegas where our wedding pictures were taken and vows exchanged. Mandalay Bay has several Wedding packages to choose from, and our choice was to be over-looking the city in this beautiful setting!

Just inside the terrace is a cozy, yet roomy bar and lounge with several rooms to accommodate your mood, or to share with a private party of friends. A huge fireplace adds to the intimate warmth you feel inside. There is also luxurious fine dining available in the dining room with spectacular views.

The Foundation Room has it’s own elevator that shoots you straight up, non-stop to our special place in the sky! I’m certain we will be returning there soon as this place has special memories for us, and is also where we had our first date 6 years ago! This will always be one of my favorite places to go dancing!

For breakfast we walked to the sprawling Buffet that has so much to choose from, you don’t know where to start! Where else can you enjoy Steamed Crab legs with French Toast!

This premiere destination will be a trendsetters dream, providing quality party atmosphere usually found in Europe! It’s venue, with 60,000 square feet of luxury with 3 tiered pools lined with tall Palm Trees is breathtaking!

26 Cabanas are available, equiped with refrigerators and flat screen TVs for those who prefer more privacy. Even better yet are the eight new two-story bungalows, teasing you with individual hot tubs, showers, and furnished for a King or Queen! They will surprize you with views of the strip, as well as the pool. They are of course temperature controlled to suit each guests preferences!

The back wall of the restaurant is actually removed at night so that patrons can enjoy the sight of the nightclub through glass!

Encore, Steve Wynn’s signature resort, opened it’s doors on December 22nd 2008. It is located next door to the “Wynn Las Vegas” featuring 2,034 suites, 12 food and beverage outlets 2 nightclubs, a Spa & Salon and more.

Encore Beach Club hours: Sunday 11am-7pm, Monday-Thursday, 12pm-7pm.

Surrender Night Club: Thursday-Saturday, 10pm-closing.
